ALEXANDER ( **) : Saw this eagerly awaited Oliver Stone movie today and came from the theatre very very dissapointed indeed . There was NOTHING in the movie which I could call or term as "entertainment value" . It might be a very factually accurate movie on a historical time and etc etc .. However a movie is also meant to be something beyond this , especially being directed by a BIG director and having a great line up of actors adds to the expectations. I didnt watch this movie in the week it got released here in India ( as I normally watch all new movies in their first week of release itself ) because the reviews and word of mouth wasnt encouraging. People were talking and advising voluntarily NOT to watch it. However leaving all these aside , I ventured into viewing it and came home thinking what a waste of time. I mean...had the director and produce just watched TROY , Braveheart and Gladiator - they would have easily understood .....their main flaw...NO STORY...I mean NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT. Angelina Jolie is wasted terribly in speaking out stupid letters to her son Alexander...I mean what were they thinking???? DONT WATCH IT. SEE TROY AGAIN ..if you are in the mood !!!

Mathura Nagarpati ( lyrics from OST of "Raincoat")

I found the english translation of the lyrics of "Mathura Nagarpati", a brilliant song sung by Shubha Mudgal in the movie " RAINCOAT " - on the net.

I couldnt help myself but post these.
The song is a classic and the language is a dialect spoken in the villages.

It talks about Lord Krishna leaving Mathura where he's king and going back to his childhood place, Gokul to meet his sweetheart Radha. The song questions Krishna's reasoning for doing such an act. Radha and Krishna never got married but their love story is the most cherished and revered in Hindu Mythology.

The sheer poetry and beauty of the words is enough to give peace !!!

Infact all the songs of this movie have a mythical quality about them .

This NEW YEAR . I resolve to be BLIND. Blind from all EVIL , blind from all ATTRACTION , blind from all MATERIALISTIC PLEASURES , blind from all PASSION , blind from all but one ........I am will NOT BLIND MYSLEF FROM ME !!! This is what all matters in the end .

Me at Palolem beach Goa !!! It took us 2 hours from our resort to reach this beach at the tip end of South Goa . However the clear blue water and amazing scenic view made up for the horrible bumpy ride to this place. I must have seen 4 motobikes accident in the 2 hour drive on the road. Some accidents were too horrible to even describe . I guess the drinking and no driving priciple needs to enforced a little bit more in GOA!! But I dont mean to scare anyone from going here , just try and be safe. Due to the the tsunami effect the shack owner at this beaches told me that the water reached a very high levels and touched their shacks !! The schacks BTW are some 800 mts away from the beach .
